SYPRO Orange protein gel stain is a fluorescent stain with high sensitivity and is very suitable for SDS gel staining. SYPRO Orange Protein Gel Stain can be used to stain gels prior to Western blotting, electroelution, or protein sequencing. SYPRO Orange protein gel stain can also be used for thermal denaturation measurement, thermal shift measurement and differential scanning fluorescence measurement of target proteins.
SYPRO Orange protein gel stain is an environment-sensitive hydrophobic dye. When the temperature rises, the protein unfolds, and the hydrophobic part is exposed. The dye specifically binds to the hydrophobic part of the protein and the fluorescence is enhanced.
● Highly Sensitive: SYPRO Orange protein gel stain can detect 1-2ng of protein per mini-gel band, making it more sensitive than Coomassie Brilliant Blue or silver stains.
● Fast staining: staining can be completed in 10-60 minutes. Simple operation: after electrophoresis, stain, rinse and take photos of the gel. No fixation or destaining steps are required.
● Cost-effective: Using SYPRO Orange Protein Gel Stain is less expensive than silver staining and requires less time.
● Low protein-to-protein variability: SYPRO Orange protein gel stain interacts with the SDS coating around proteins, resulting in more consistent staining between different types of proteins than Coomassie Brilliant Blue or silver stains.
● Selective for proteins: SYPRO Orange protein gel stain detects proteins as small as 6.5kDa and does not stain nucleic acids or lipopolysaccharides. SYPRO Orange Protein Gel Stain stains glycosylated proteins.
● Wide detection linear range: the fluorescence intensity of the stained band is linearly related to the amount of protein, over three orders of magnitude (wider than Coomassie or silver staining).
● SYPRO Orange protein gel stain has an excitation wavelength peak at 470nm and an emission wavelength of 570nm. Stained proteins can be easily observed using XEPU Blue Light Transilluminator XEPU-1126B.
