UV Inspection Lamps for Non-Destructive Testing

UV Inspection Lights are used in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) for fluorescing fluorescent magnetic inks and fluorescent dye penetrants. The XEPU UV lights or black lights with a peak wavelength of 365nm creates the optimal viewing conditions.

XEPU Scientific manufactures a range of mains and battery powered, handheld 365nm UV lamps and torches for NDT applications.The XEPU-1603 is a UV inspection lamp designed for use in the Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and is certified with major NDT standards including ASTM E 3022.

The XEPU-1603 emits UV-A light with a peak wavelength of 365nm which makes it ideal for undertaking Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and liquid Dye Penetrant Inspection (DPI).

While the XEPU-1603 is primarily designed for use in NDT, 365nm light is suitable for many sectors including medical laboratories, crime laboratories, passport and currency checking, forensics, UV curing, leak detection and others where fluorescent inspection takes place.

Switchable UV and White Light

The XEPU-1603 UV Inspection Lamp features 3 LEDs with internal optics and black filter lenses to produce a high intensity UV-A uniform beam with no hot spots. In addition, the lamp also features a switch selectable white light mode for visual inspection under white light.

When operating the white light, keep in mind that dark vision (scotopic vision) is lost. Therefore, it is recommended to wait a minimum of 30 seconds after white light use to recover dark vision before undertaking any observations using UV light.
